Drawing Body: University Grant Commission, New Delhi
Amount : Rs.4600000/-
Aim and Scope of the Project:
In this project, Artificial Neural Network and Fuzzy Logic will be implemented for multi-channel Active Noise Control (ANC) system. The acoustic noise that we come across in our daily routines due to large industrial equipments, fans, compressors, mixers, engines, machine tools etc., are not only known to be disturbing during the period of long exposure, but also result in fatigue and loss of concentration, thus resulting in decrease in productivity. ANC involves generation of an anti-noise signal of equal amplitude and opposite phase and combining with the primary (unwanted) noise, thus resulting in the cancellation of both noises. The traditional/conventional techniques used in ANC have limitation of nonlinearity which results in performance degradation. To overcome, these problem intelligent systems which can deal with nonlinearity are to be used. For this, neural network and fuzzy logic which are non linear controllers could be applied. Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) with best features of both neural network and fuzzy logic will be designed for use in multi-channel Active Noise Control system. The simulation of modified ANFIS multi-channel ANC will be done using MATLAB. These simulation results will be validated on the experimental set up using code-composer studio, DSP Kit and other hardware.
