Osmium

Osmium– The theatre group, has once again demonstrated their exceptional talent and artistry by winning the third prize and best actress award in the stage play competition at the prestigious IIT Guwahati’s annual cultural fest, Alcheringa. The four-day event was held from 2nd to 5th February 2023 and saw the participation of various colleges and universities from across the country.
The competition at Alcheringa was fierce, with some of the most talented and skilled theatre groups competing for the top spot. However, Osmium’s performance was nothing short of outstanding, which helped them secure the third prize.
The group’s play was a powerful and thought-provoking portrayal of the courtroom drama of an acid attack victim.
This win at Alcheringa is a testament to Osmium’s hard work, dedication, and passion for theatre. The group has been consistently producing award winning performances. 

Goonj

Goonj is the annual cultural festival of UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh. It is a platform for students to showcase their talents and showcase the cultural diversity of the institution. The festival is eagerly awaited by students and staff alike and is a much-needed break from the rigors of academic life. Goonj is a celebration of art, music, dance, and culture, and it brings together students from different backgrounds and cultures to create a truly vibrant and inclusive environment. The festival is organized by a team of dedicated students and is supported by the faculty and staff of UIET. The festival is an opportunity for students to showcase their talents, network with peers and industry professionals, and create lifelong memories.

ATalk

After a series of several successful ATalk sessions with eminent alumni the Alumni Affairs Cell organized another engaging and knowledgeable ATalk episode with Miss, Srishti Warman a graduate of the EEE ’12 batch of UIET.

Miss Srishti Warman has worked for multiple reputed companies in India and abroad, she earned her MBA from the University of Cambridge, and is actively associated with UN’s HE for SHE agenda.

The event began with the felicitation of the speaker and a brief introductory speech about her. About 150 students came to the Seminar Hall to attend the event. A short video was played to acquaint the audience with the alumni and her achievements. Shortly the interactive episode began in which the host asked several questions.

The speaker began with reminiscing about her college days: she was delighted to see how much UIET has changed and how far it has come since her time. Talking about her college days, the speaker advised the students to figure out where their passion and interest lies and devote their time to that specific skill only. She also advised to have proper planning if one is inclined upon foreign universities, but at the same time not to be too disappointed about rejections.

After all the academic discussions the speaker talked about the security of women in various workplaces. She motivated all the women to take active part in the office, not hesitate from expressing their opinions, views and always help the other women around them.

The GDSC Team presented a short introductory video about “Women in tech”.Before the end of the event the audience asked the speaker a few questions related to her journey,career and future plans. The speaker listened to all the questions and answered comprehensively.
The event ended on a motivational note as the speaker inspired all the students to work hard and not fear failure. The event helped all the attendees in getting proper guidance for their career and gave everyone a great deal of inspiration.
