Design of Monitoring & Surveillance System for Active Fire Locations in Haryana
Project |

Stubble burning is one of the major problems being faced by citizens of country and is pioneer to various diseases like Asthma, skin and eye related diseases, low breathing air quality. In spite of Government's initiatives in increasing awareness about this evil, there has been tremendous increase in the number of such incidents every year.

The developed system has helped to integrate various activities of Department of Agriculture like highlighting locations of Active fire Locations on Maps, Providing Navigation to reach out to those locations, providing support for realtime reporting system for field officers and district level officers, use this data to trace defaulters and initiating actions in form of stopping various Government benefits.

The system has been built both as Android App and web-interface.

Development of 5G based UAV Augmented Intelligent Monitoring and Surveillance System
| Project

Telelab, UIET, Panjab University has come up to provide a drone-based system that aims at utilizing the benefits of machine learning/deep learning to roll out monitoring and surveillance applications . To offer more accurate and reliable monitoring and security, data is collected using UAVs that are built in-house and work in augmentation to sensors’ data. The proposed work implements a layered framework for seamless Device-to-Device (D2D) communication and control while using modern technologies over telecommunication networks.

Our drones are equipped with mobile computing devices with an onboard processing capability and are powered by a backbone of high performance cloud based servers. The cameras can capture targets on the ground from a wider field of view with high resolution photo-sensors. The captured data can be transmitted in real time over a secure 4G based network for further processing to cloud. The cloud deploys Artificial Intelligence based algorithms for processing the data into information. The AI models detect objects such as humans; vehicles etc and provide output in the form of bounding boxes around the identified objects. The system has a provision to generate alerts once an output from the models is obtained. The alerts can be in the form of emails and texts that can be sent to the stakeholders and authorities for monitoring and management.

Multi-Modal Framework for Monitoring Active Fire Locations (AFL) and Precision in Allied Agricultural Activities using Communication TechnologiesMulti-Modal Framework for Monitoring Active Fire Locations (AFL) and Precision in Allied Agricultural Activities using Communication Technologies

Project |

Stubble burning is one of the major problems being faced by citizens of our country and is a precursor to various respiratory disorders like Asthma, skin and eye related diseases, low breathing air quality. It is pre-dominant in the Northern states namely Punjab, Haryana and is one of the major causes of decrease in AQI in NCR.

The project proposes a single system that is capable of performing various tasks involved in detection, surveillance and monitoring of Active Fire Locations. Data captured from satellite will be exploited to identify Active Fire locations. This project also proposes to establish a single Command and Control Center for alert generation, information and online report submission to various stakeholders like Police Network, Administrative and Agricultural Officers, Fire Station, etc.

The project will also bridge the gap between farmers and various agencies involved in best practices for crop residue management by providing a common interactive platform.
