Computer Science and Engineering offers 4-year B.E. and 2 year M.E. programme in Computer Science and Engineering. The branch has recently started with new M.E programme in CSE with Cyber Security as specialized area. The branch also offers Doctoral programme under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh.\u00a0The branch puts strong emphasis on building core fundamentals for the undergraduates and post graduates. We provide an in-depth education in engineering principles built on mathematics, computation, and CS concepts and encourage students to apply what they had learnt through projects, internships, and research. We offer excellent teaching learning process, better alumni relations and industry alliance through research projects and consultancies.\u00a0We provide strong exposure to cutting edge and emerging technologies like Machine Learning, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Informatics and Cyber Security, Cloud computing, Medical imaging and devices, Computer Networking to name a few.\u00a0Graduates of Computer science and Engineering branch work in diverse industries and conduct research in a broad range of areas.\u00a0We had strong faculty base in research in the areas of Computer Networks, Computer Vision, Medical Imaging, Deep learning and parallel processing.\u00a0A number of sponsored research projects have been offered by various International and National Funding agencies to our faculties.<\/p>\r\n

Computer Science & Engineering is extremely well equipped in terms of Hardware and Software. It has seven spacious computer labs and more than 175 desktop computers with latest generation\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0processor of Intel i3, i5 and i7 having 4B\/8GB RAM. Research Labs are equipped with dedicated Nvidia\u00a0\u00a0GPU Workstation with latest Dual Xeon Core\u00a0\u00a0Processor have in 32\/64 GB RAM. In Server Room we have Dell Blade Server FC630, Dell Power Edge R905 AMD\u00a0\u00a0Processor\u00a0\u00a0Server,\u00a0\u00a0IBM System X 3550 Xeon Processor Server, HP\u00a0\u00a0ProLiant DL 180\u00a0\u00a0G6\u00a0\u00a0Server\u00a0\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0HP Proliant ML 110G7 Server for Application Software(Anti Virus\/Oual Net ) , Database Server(Oracle\/Microsoft SQL Server\/Mysql\/Postgres SQL) ,Web Application (Moodle\/ Cloud\/Stock Information System\/DSpace and Intranet Website) , Virtualization(Xen Server) and\u00a0\u00a0Simulation purpose. Department has Net gear NAS , Virtual Machines, Videos, Network camera recording. LAN is connected with PU North Campus using Optical Fiber\u00a0<\/strong>having 1G backbone. The Academic Block -1, Academic Block-2 are connected with optical Fiber having 10G backbone and Academic Block-3 is also connected with optical Fiber having 1Gps Back Bone.In Server Room we have UTM (Cyberoam CR 750iNG-XP) for user log\/reporting, firewall\/ user authentication and Bandwidth Management. Our LAN includes 800 approximate nodes\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0for student\u2019s faculty and staffs. V.P LAN is connected with North Campus .Whole Campus\u00a0 has WI-FI Access having 35(Thirty Five) Aruba Controlled base latest Access Point(Aruba AP 215) installed on each Floor and\u00a0\u00a0four\u00a0\u00a0Outdoor\u00a0\u00a0Access Point (AP-175) installed between Academic\u00a0\u00a0Blcok1 , Academic -2 and in UIET Canteen. Currently we have approximate 2200 internet users registered on our network which is authenticated by Centralized Radius Server installed on Computer Centre.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
