Software Freedom Day (Sept 15-16)

Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an annual worldwide celebration of Free Software organized by Digital Freedom Foundation. SFD is a public education effort with the aim of increasing awareness of Free Software and its virtues, and encouraging its use.

Since its inception in the year 2004, the conference has grown to being organized in 400+ countries. Speakers from a wide array of fields attend the conference and provide their insights and expertise on their respective fields. Past speakers include speakers from companies like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Gemini Solutions, and a lot more. SFD hosts designers, software developers, data scientists and every other technical and creative field imaginable. SFD's past sponsors include IBM, Red Hat, Ubuntu, GitHub and more. This year in UIET, we are organizing the 9th edition of SFD. Our team has worked really hard to bring in professional speakers from India as well as abroad and we hope to make this the best edition of SFD yet.
