This project will be based on to detect acoustic events in closed environment and commuter will be notified about these events. We will detect events such as about the position of commuters (Busy or Quite Street), vehicle in which they are travelling (Car, Bus, Auto, train etc.) and flow of traffic (free flow, medium flow, congestion).

Project Title: RFID based Multipurpose Traffic Light System

  • The Project aimed at developing a Smart Traffic Light System which performs multiple functions like smart Traffic management.
  • The Project is designed on RFID technology consisting of RFID system and Traffic lights System.
  • Both the system will communicate with each other as well as among themselves and take respective decisions autonomously.
  • Provides free passage to emergency vehicles.
  • Automatic fine generation for traffic rules violators.
  • Tracing of stolen vehicles in the city.
  • Information of Public Transport arrival at bus stops etc.
  • The Prototype of the Project is ready and PATENT has been Published by Indian Patent Journal

  • The application is based on providing the facility of blood in urgency.
  • People who want to donate blood can anytime register themselves. The app informs the registered donors whenever their blood is needed. The app is made keeping in mind the distance factor between donor and the needer. Only those donors are informed who lies within a particular range of the needer.

Project Title: Bus Arrival Detection Using Bluetooth and Acoustics

  • The aim of this Project is to track the position of a bus at a bus stop using Bluetooth Technology and calculate estimated time of arrival (ETA) at the subsequent bus stop.
  • The information is based on current traffic congestion of location.
  • Speech notification about the bus details is also provided for the commuters on the bus-stop.

  • Aim of the project is to develop an IoT based Node-Network which can determine the various environmental aspects of the atmosphere of surroundings such as Air Quality, Temperature and Humidity in real-time.
  • The project is based on two different models such as one will remain stationary installed at a point and analyse the air quality of that particular station.
  • Second model will be movable which can be installed on vehicles and provides air quality of particular path.
  • This information will be used to determine the less polluted path(Green Path) which a user can follow.
  • The parameters obtained from devices can be accessed by users on a webpage or android app.

  • Spectrophotometry is the technique that hinges on the quantitative analysis of molecules depending on how much light is absorbed by coloured components.
  • Considering the wide scope of application of this technique in high-schools and colleges, it becomes essential to have a low-cost and robust spectrophotometer.
  • The Project aimed at developing a cost effective spectrophotometer which can be used in schools for experiments as the  spectrophotometer available in the markets are too costly and care demanding. Thus we are making a robust spectrophotometer over which students can perform experiments easily.

  • Understanding the present scenario of intelligent vehicle surveillance build a hardware solution for vehicle counting in real time.
  • Tackle problems like Occlusion, overlapping, weather conditions etc.
  • Currently Vehicle detection based on Appearance, Motion and Vehicle Tracking based on Region based tracking, Feature based tracking.

Project Title: Traffic Event Detection and Path estimation using Barometer Sensors.

Using Barometer Sensors, we will try to recognize the movements of commuter (Still or Moving). Based on user movement we will try to determine the state of traffic (free flow, medium flow, congestion). We will also try to determine the path travelled by user before experiencing the congestion state. This project will also be helpful to track commuter movements without the use of GPS or any other communication devices.

Project Title: Pedestrian Detection using Thermal Sensor.

Theme: Traffic Sensing and IT

Investigators: Dr. Veenu Mangat, Ms. Roopali Garg, Dr. Yogita, Dr. Ajay Mittal, Dr. Naveen Aggarwal

Pedestrian detection is very important in various applications like automated lights, detection of anomalous activity and for general traffic management. Most of the existing techniques for pedestrian detection have employed vision cameras which have its own share of drawbacks like vision cameras cease functioning in low light conditions and foggy conditions. In this proposal, we will focus on pedestrian detection using thermal imaging for traffic light automation.

Initially in this study, the existing literature on pedestrian detection using normal vision cameras and thermal imaging will be studied. Further, we aim at proposing a solution using thermal image cameras.

Project Title: Indoor Navigation System for UIET.
